Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda
We started off the day with an early morning sail back to Mountain Point. During the sail, Jace and I got seasick, and let’s just say it ended with Annie cleaning up puke off the deck. Once we got to Mountain Point, we had a delicious breakfast of cinnamon sugar coffee cake and scrambled eggs. We got ready for the day and traded boats with another group for the day.
We then went on our first open water dive. Actually, two open water dives! The first one to 25 feet and the second to 40 feet. There was so many fish, and Mora saw lots of colorful coral. It was so much fun! After the dive, we hung out while Caroline worked on detailing her hair. And then it was lunchtime. We had grilled cheese sandwiches. After lunch, it was time for our scuba certification test. Teddy was convinced he wouldn’t pass, and after the test, Calvin started studying to retake it before he even knew the score.
While we waited in suspense for the test scores, we made braided sailor knot rope bracelets, and Natalie had to remake hers like five times, and Emma undid hers too re-do it a couple of hours later and forgot how to remake it. After bracelet making, we went back to our home on the water, beautiful Meow or Never, and luckily Ryan didn’t fall in again when we went from the dingy to the boat. Isabel and Anton made tacos for dinner, and they were amazing, but we learned that Robby, from Mexico, doesn’t like salsa. Is a taco even a taco without salsa? And how can that girl live without chips and salsa? Right before dinner, we got the amazing news. Every single one of us passed the test!! We knew some of us would pass but didn’t think everyone would. Yay!!!!! We have a sail chat later tonight, and some of us will probably be up until tomorrow.
