Location: Marina Cay
Bonjour les familles! Avery is reporting for skipper duty today, which means I get to tell you all about our day in Trellis Bay, which Emma told us was called French town, but two minutes ago, JT told us that was one gigantic lie, and they were laughing about how we fell for it. Our morning began early with other staff members bombarding our bateau, which means boat in French. But really, waking up early was a secret blessing as this allowed River, Carlie, and I to do some early morning skimming on the kneeboard. After we got back, Carlie and I took a dip in the ocean and conditioned our hair until realizing we ran out of fresh water on the boat again. After that, we brought up our anchor, raised the sail, and unfurled the jib to get ready for our sail from Mountain Point to Trellis Bay to go to shore and get more water. There wasn’t much wind in the morning, so we had to use the motor. Although we weren’t fully sailing, Carlie and I got the chance to be on the helm the whole ride. We also realized that there were only five buildings in the whole town, but it was such a belle vue (beautiful view in French). Alivia, Leila, Grace, Michelle, Laurel, Kaya, Carlie, and I all went to the loose mongoose for a yummy early lunch. Kaya and I split the chicken tenders and a Caesar salad, which was un bon appetit. Later we all got matching shirts from a local boutique store called the Aragorn’s Studio. It was pouring outside and the extremely nice owner was generous enough to give Carlie and I a trash bag to wear outside as a rain coat which kept us and our new clothes dry. Even though we already ate at the loose mongoose we had 5 hours on shore so we later ate a sushi restaurant for a second lunch. We then met up with Arthur, Dillon, Sahil, and River at the market to buy more of, what you’ve probably already guessed, snacks! When we returned to our boat, we did a quick deckie (which means cleaning the boat deck). We then unpacked the new food, which included fresh fruit from the tropical island of Tortola. We then motored to where we would spend the night and reunited with our beloved staff member, JT. Now, we are anchored and ready for bed—Bonne Nuit les families, which means goodnight families in French.
Love, Avery, and hello from Arthur, Alivia, Dillon, Lelia, Sahil, Grace, Michelle, Kaya, Carlie, Laurel, and River
