British Virgin Islands - 2024, Session 2

WELCOME HOME!!!!!!!

Location: West End, Tortola

It's finally here! We cannot wait for all of our shipmates to arrive safely on Beso del Viento (BdV) and to get out on the water. Our boat's sitting a little deeper in the water with all of the food, ski gear, water, etc., that we've spent the last few days preparing for: our first voyage of the summer. It's going to be a fun one filled with diving, sailing, and some classic AQ shenanigans, and we need our crew to get the ball rolling. Below, we've introduced our professional selves and experiences. However, what we really are excited about is curating good vibes and watching y'all form the tight-knit, familial groups that only AQ can. See you on the water! We can't wait to welcome you all home!

Emma - Skipper
Emma grew up 3 hours from the nearest ocean in Maryland, but to her, it was always worth the drive! She fell in love with scuba diving while earning her degree in Marine Affairs and Sustainable Business at the University of Miami. While in college, Emma was lucky enough to sail from South Africa to the Caribbean on both S/Y Argo and S/Y Vela. Emma used her degree to teach high school science, but then, the call of adventure took her to New Zealand, Australia, and sailing from Tahiti to Fiji in the past year. She can't wait to bring her teaching skills and adventurous spirit to play as she helps our shippies sail BdV into the sunset. If you don't find her on a boat, you'll probably see her being towed behind it on a wakeboard!

JT - Dive Instructor
Growing up in Northern Virginia, John discovered his love for sailing and scuba diving during his four summers as a student with ActionQuest. He has always loved teaching, and as the Boatswain on the University of Delaware sailing team, he's enjoyed running practices and teaching new members of various skill levels. John is a Junior Computer Science student, and when not on the water, he typically spends time with friends and family, working on various projects in the MakerSpace on campus or exploring local coffee shops. He is excited to work for ActionQuest and spend another summer in paradise.

Margaret - Mate
Margaret grew up in Palm Beach, Florida, 10 minutes away from the beach. She loves all water activities, from surfing to scuba diving. While in college, Margaret joined the Seamester program from Fiji to Bali on S/Y Vela. Aboard Vela, Margaret became a PADI Rescue Diver and an Emergency First Responder. Margaret has worked with kids as a surf instructor and at marine biology summer camps. She cannot wait to teach students how to sail and to have a fantastic time this summer! If you can't find her, she is probably shoving her face with cookies.
