Location: The Bight, Norman Island
Day 15 began with the news that the boat we had rafted (attached boats) with was drifting, and at 3 am, they needed to break apart from us and sail away. Everyone was a bit drowsy from the night before and from meeting everyone from the boat, Meow or Never, but Macie and Ari woke everyone up with a really thick and delicious batch of pancakes. We then all learned new knots and practiced old ones for an upcoming exam! Soon after, we sailed for “The Wall,” which was a beautiful reef and was where Jon and Erica got their certifications. While they were, Caroline, Bridget, Casey, and I went snorkeling over a group of scuba divers from Aloha (another boat in the fleet) and tried to scare them, but sadly never noticed our overhead presence. Niko went knee-boarding again and, per usual, did an obscene amount of 360s in a row. After everyone was finished, we grabbed our PFDs and set sail for shore, playing card games and listening to music on the way to Road Town. We met with other boats, had lunch, did some shopping, and explored the town. Afterward, we met back on the dock and started our final sail of the day. Will and Caroline captained the boat as we all worked together to get the boat in ship shape without any of the facilitator’s help. It honestly turned out to be a very fun experience. We blasted music and sang songs all the way to The Bite at Norman Island, where we were left alone to make dinner and ended up trading dinner prep for a tattoo party (100% real tattoos), and Max and Alex now are rocking matching ones. After a dinner of deliciously undercooked rice and beans (and then recooking them), we participated in more preparation for the looming test. We ended the day with a surprise activity from the staff and got ready for our final day at sea 🙁
