Location: Sandy Spit, Green Cay

What’s up, blog!!! Today was a super chill sail training day. We got to sleep in an extra 30 minutes, waking up at 7:30. For breakfast, Coco and Clara whipped up a fresh batch of French toast. After scarfing down breakfast, we set sail to Great and Little Tobago National Park. Around noon, Coco and Clara made a delicious spread of chicken wraps, and after, the majority ventured into the water, either snorkeling or exploring the shore. Blake, Sloane, Clara, Bryce, and Iris spotted Trumpet, Parrot, and other small fish while snorkeling, while Coco, Gwynnie, David, and Lilly found super cool rocks and shells on shore, and Ellery, Elle, and Anna chilled on the boat. After our brief exploration, we raised our sails once again, heading towards Sandy Spit. While on our journey, everyone got the chance to helm with Will, a highlight of most people’s day!

To conclude our sail training day, we got to sail into anchor, tacking more than 18 times into the anchorage. This was a rare but exciting experience for everyone. Once anchored, we immediately jumped into the water for showers, and all sat down for a yummy dinner of rice and beans, hot dogs, corn bread, spinach salad (courtesy of Coco), and broccoli (thanks to Ellery). To end the night, my squeeze question was “What meal are you first eating when you get home?” Anna and I both said smoothies, Coco is looking forward to her yogurt bowl, and Hinoki. Iris wants a Blank Street matcha, Ellery wants her dad’s steak and broccoli, along with a wild tribe. Sloane wants Starbucks, and Bryce DEEPLY desires a McDonald’s run. Blake longs for beef Wellington, David wants a good breakfast, Lilly wants a salad, Gwynnie wants sushi and boba, and Clara craves her mom’s salad and bubble tea as well. Overall, today was a much-needed rest day in order to gear up for tomorrow morning’s intense sailing race. Be prepared to see Glad 2 B Here’s first-place medals on Instagram tomorrow!!! “Catch you on the flip side!”- Ellery.
