British Virgin Islands - 2025, Session 1

Arrival Day!

Location: West End, Tortola

Welcome to AQ! We’re so excited to meet our new crew today. These last two weeks, we’ve been working hard at the AQ docks in West End, training, cleaning, organizing, re-organizing, and planning for what’s sure to be a great session. We’ll be sailing on Glad 2 B Here, which happens to be the finest boat in our fleet and is sure to be the fastest with the right crew sailing her (which arrives today).
Here’s some more info about our staff!

Will - Skipper
Hailing from Philadelphia, Will’s love for the ocean started in high school when he experienced ActionQuest for the first time. During a gap year between high school and college, he sailed across the Atlantic Ocean from South Africa to the Caribbean on board S/Y Argo in the Spring of 2023. He stayed in Sint Maarten after that voyage, completing his IYT 200T Yachtmaster license. Will is thrilled to be back skippering for ActionQuest this summer, looking to help foster a love for the ocean. When Will isn’t on a boat, you can probably find him running/climbing/skiing in the mountains! The stock is so high!

Anzie - Dive Instructor
Despite growing up in the landlocked state of Indiana, Anzie has always enjoyed spending time in the water. Anzie joined AQ in 2019 as a Vega student and instantly fell in love with diving. Returning for more AQ programs throughout the years, Anzie has worked her way through the PADI rankings while making epic memories. When not in the BVI, Anzie studies Marine Biology & Ecology at the University of Miami, and in her free time, she enjoys going to the beach, line dancing, traveling, and sharing a good laugh with her friends. She can’t wait to return to the BVI this summer, this time as staff, and to help facilitate the same amazing experiences she had as a student with her shipmates!

Emma - Mate
Growing up in Massachusetts, Emma’s connection to the water runs deep, and she feels most at home when on the water. Emma became part of the GXG family in the spring of 2024 when she joined the crew of STV Vela as a student, sailing from Cape Town, South Africa, to Antigua. After completing her student voyage, she immediately transitioned into a dual role as deckhand and provisioner on board Vela. She gained hands-on experience and deepened her love for life at sea. Emma is excited to spend this summer in the beautiful British Virgin Islands, creating unforgettable memories with everyone!
