Location: Sandy Spit, Green Cay

When starting off with barely enough propane in the tank to make French toast, the toast ends up a little soggy. We still all ate two slices despite the unfavorable texture. After gearing up, the crew set out for MOBs (Man-Over-Boards) by throwing a fender into the water with a “Watch team” on the helm to delegate tasks. The rest of the members on board were the passengers on the vessel. During the first rotation of watch teams, watch team 1, consisting of Molly, Lainey, Anna, and Me, had to control retrieval of the fender while William decided to show off his acting prowess as the crazed and excessively worried passenger. Watch team 2, including Wylie, Julia, Maia, and Arthur, had a rocky first try, with Wylie accidentally steering way off course and no tasks given to the members of the team.

Last but not least, watch team 3 with Nathan, Alexander, Bryce, and William, was missing Bryce during the drill due to him being asleep through the whole ordeal. They had a clean retrieval of the fake man-over-board. Everyone decided to take naps after expending all of their energy on the aforementioned drills. Emma had trouble waking people up, so she opted for banging pan lids together to make extremely loud and, honestly, deathly annoying noises. When everyone had finally woken up, we were once again broken up into watch teams to learn and practice knot-tying. Throughout the day, we each took our knot-tying tests to make sure we all had nailed the knot techniques. When anchoring into our next location, Sela had trouble letting out the correct amount of chain for the anchor. Ultimately, we figured the anchor out and settled down to both clean our dinghy and have fun on a little man-made sand island with two palm trees. Arthur fixed our shower hose! Dinner was rice and franks (rice with beans and seasonings and cut-up hot dogs) and a perfectly cooked cornbread made by Julia. All-in-all, we had an amazing day with fun action and funny moments throughout.
