Location: The Bight, Norman Island
Today was our last normal day of activities, and I think we all did our best to make the most of it. It started beautifully with a late wake-up of 8 am. A lot of us woke up before that though, and the first one up was Anna which was a pleasant surprise to us all because she started the pancakes before we were even awake, so the sizzle and aroma graced us upon arising. After we ate those in no time, William and Alex chose to work out on the roof, which was kind of joined by Julia. During that time, Lainey and I swam one lap around our four-boat raft and then pulled out the floaties and goldfish to reward ourselves. At which point Julia decided to join us, which was closely followed by Maia, Anna, William, Alex, Arthur and Wylie, and some other girls from our raft (#trendsetters.) After a very long swim, we left the raft and jib sailed to the base of the mooring to refuel and go to Road Town, where our toe pads graced the hot concrete before venturing around in our separate directions. Maia, Julia, Lainey, and I went to get delectable gelato, for which our tastebuds were more than thankful. While our group used our resources and went to a local favorite for lunch, the rest of our group waited centuries for mediocre food, but they also got the opportunity to go to the market. When we got back to the boat, we quickly left the dock and moved over to The Bight. During the sail, we enjoyed the last of our phone time, and the Carina students finalized their VHF and ICC certifications. When we got to The Bight, the staff had a meeting, so we showered, during which Nathan and Gabe were the kings of the hill who pushed everyone off, but only if they weren’t clean enough. It started to rain during our showers, so once we were all clean, Maia, Julia, Lainey, and I had a dance party in the rain on the tramp. We then had a delectable dinner of cheddar broccoli pasta and had our last squeeze, where we all bonded one last time. While we wrap up our last normal day on the boat, we are cleaning and listening to some songs to properly culminate our trip.
