Location: Great Harbor, Peter Island

What’s up, homies? Today was a great day, so let’s get into it. We started with a breakfast of oatmeal, where we came together to talk about our plan for today. After breakfast, we had a quick sail to Salt Island to dive the Rhone. We split into two groups led by Tommy and Anna. During the dive, we saw two giant lobsters and a turtle (I didn’t see the turtle, so it’s not real). The Rhone is a sick spot because it’s so cool to see a wreck, something normally discarded, turn into a community bustling with life at every turn. After the Rhone, we went hiking up a small hill on Salt Island with all the other dive side boats.

While waiting for the other dingy to arrive, Noah, Maya, Derek, Mirah, and I explored the houses on the beach and liberated them for AMERICA (YEAH)! The hike was very short but was a steep ascent to the top, where we took a group picture. Derek and Paul were chasing some goats at the top while the rest of us relaxed and talked to other boat folk. We then went back down to the beach and got in the dingy to go back to the boat. When back on the boat, I sailed with Joe’s help back to Great Harbor Peter to do our night dive #2. Before we did our night dive, we had to snorkel above the site to get a lay of the land. There wasn’t much down there, but we had fun anyways. After the snorkel, we had free time to swim or hang out on the boat. During our free time, I hung out with Logan, Maya, and Joe and looked through the fish behavior book. (Get the book and look at the pictures. They’re really funny). We then got our kits ready and started dinner. We had chicken Caesar salad and risotto made by Regan and Rachel (it was really good). I couldn’t equalize during the dive, so I didn’t make it down and scared Derek and Noah in the process.
Enough from me here is everyone’s favorite moment of the day

Favorite moments from each person:
Emmy: Putting on Tessa’s wetsuit with the guy’s help (getting lifted to the ceiling and shaken)
Paul: The hike
Rachel: falling backward off the dinghy while it wasn’t even moving on accident (she okay)
Tessa: seeing the turtle on the dive today (I don’t believe it)
Anya: doing a somewhat 360 on the kneeboard
Regan: Joy rides in the dinghy
Noah: Sleeping for 2 hours
Derek: Water skiing and kneeboarding
Mirah: Hiking and meeting the kiwi
Garrett: Throwing gang signs at the lobster
Logan: When he saw an octopus on the night dive
Maya: The morning rave that we woke up to.

XOXO to all of the parents from me,
Garrett
