Location: Muskmelon Bay, Guana Island
Today the crew did not get a sleep-in. We started the day around 7, and the counselors left soon after for a very long staff meeting. We were left alone on the boat, and we made breakfast and did all the cleanup before they got back. Although we made breakfast, the whole crew assumed that the counselors were going to somehow eat at their staff meeting, so we didn’t save them any breakfast. To put it one way, they weren’t very happy with us. After they ate and we got ready for the day, we set sail to a temporary anchorage for the day at Trellis. The town was really cute and was all very coastal. Our first stop was obviously the corner store where we got ALOT of snacks and a needed bottle of cold, refrigerated water. After that, we made our way to our lunch stop but made a pit stop at a really delicious coffee shop. Calvin, Jace, Mora, Anton, and I were the first to go, and when Kaleigh saw us walking in, she screamed, “Nooo! The children can’t get there first!!”. It was really funny, but we ended up getting our drinks anyways. Mora had her long-awaited Matcha latte, which she had been craving non-stop for the past week, and Jace, Calvin, and I had cookies and cream Frappuccinos with coffee. They were SO good. While we were getting coffee, Caroline, Leah, Teddy, Ryan, Emma, Natalie, and Robby were at a shop, and Natalie bought a really cute T-Shirt. We all met up in the restaurant where we weren’t prepared for what was to come. We sat down, and we had to wait a while for our orders to be taken, which wasn’t that bad, but once we ordered, the wait was like an hour and a half! It was a really long wait, but the food was pretty good, so it was ok.
Once we ate and paid our chaotic bill, we went over to the dock to wait for Matty P to come to pick us up. One of the other counselors took us back to Meow or Never after like 30min of waiting. Once we were back on Meow, we set sail to our anchorage for the night, Muskmelon Bay. It’s really pretty here, and the food was really good for dinner. Jace and Emma made Chili and Rice. We had another counselor named Tyler join us for dinner as he lives on Under Pressure, which pumps the oxygen tanks for diving. He was really nice, though. We talked about our favorite TV shows from when we were younger during the squeeze, and it was really nostalgic. After dinner, we had a dance party out on the bow to all the theme songs of those nostalgic shows. The sunset is really pretty tonight, and I think we will have a sail chat tonight, which will be pretty long, but it’s interesting, so it’s ok. There were no Teddy incidents today, so overall a good day for the Meow or Never crew.
