Location: Vixen Point, Gorda Sound
Today began with a giant breakfast of cereal and fresh fruit. Many of the crew members were excited for our upcoming rotation day, where we would get the chance to experience windsurfing, sailing, and diving, amongst other things. The Vega members of our crew got to try snorkeling for the first time, whereas the Carina students went diving. Being one of those on the dive, I got to encounter wildlife underwater I had yet to see, such as a barracuda and parrotfish. Later that day was the beach BBQ, where we campers from the sail side, dive side, and Lifeworks all got to socialize with one another for the first time. It was so great to see how other campers were using their experience at ActionQuest and how it had impacted them. At the BBQ we enjoyed a meal of burgers and hot dogs, which was delicious! At the end of the night, our ship shared stories on the dinghy ride back about the great people they had met. When we arrived at the ship, we found our staff member had made cookies and cake for our shipmate’s birthday! The smiles on all our faces were quite a sight to see! Every day here is such a blessing, and I am so happy to wake up every day to embark on a new adventure!
