Location: Vixen Point, Gorda Sound
Yesterday was a super fun day. We started off having cereal for breakfast, which felt good after having half-cooked French toast the morning before. After breakfast, we moved to our first rotation, which was learning about reef conservation. It was cool to learn about the place around us, the animals that live in it, and how we can help to preserve these places. After this, we were picked up by the water sports boat. On my boat, all of us went knee-boarding. Although I didn’t do so well, Mason was going crazy on it, doing several 360s at once. After we got back, we had to do RDPs, which is how you calculate how deep you will go and when you will take your safety spot, which Is a good thing to learn if you want to learn to scuba.
Then we had some Kraft Mac n cheese. In the afternoon, we had one more rotation left, paddle boarding. It was pretty relaxing, and it felt good to hang out on the paddle boards. When we got back, we had to get ready for the barbecue and shower. We sailed across the bay to another town in Virgin Gorda, where the barbecue was. When we got there, we were all eager to go on our phones, but we had to go into town first. In town, we went shopping for all the food we wanted to keep on the boat(Mason getting two more bags of brownie brittle). When we showed up at the dock where our boat had left us, it was nowhere to be seen; it had to be moved to let other boats on, so we waited for a dinghy to come to pick us up. After, we got our phones and were able to talk to our family and friends for about an hour. We then headed to the barbecue, where we enjoyed food and music and were able to meet kids and staff from other boats. After the festivities, we headed back to Meow or Never, where we went straight to sleep. It was a great day!
