Location: Anegada
Today was a super fun day. After two consecutive rotation days, the morning sail to Anegada was a relaxing break from all of the activities happening recently. After the barbecue last night, I slept on the net at the bow, with Max and Casia sleeping near the door to the salon. I woke up to music again, and we all had pancakes for breakfast. Shortly after we finished, we dropped the mooring ball and picked up sail for Anegada. My group, group three, was tasked with setting up the sails. Max controlled the jammers, Nat manned the mainsheets, Lexi and some others hoisted the sail, and I sat at the helm, keeping the Meow facing into the wind. Once we were on our way, I found a comfy spot and napped until we arrived. I slept well until Adrienne woke everyone up, screaming that the sky was purple.
Once we arrived, we had lunch and got ready for the boat Olympics with the other three boats in our fleet. We all put Zink (face paint) on our faces. Everyone did each other’s paint and did designs on their faces and forearms. I didn’t really know what to do, but then I saw that Tony had a huge trident tattoo on his forearm and got inspired. I ended up with a huge trident across my cheek and nose and a Star of David on my other cheek. The first event was a tug of war, which we lost (we are the youngest boat in our fleet). However, we got second place in the next event, which was a relay race where we did flips in the water, paddled to a dingy, pulled ourselves off, and jumped off. After that, we did some wrestling on the paddle boards (Like the color war event from camp mom), but nobody kept scoring, so we just did it for fun. As soon as we returned to the Meow, we all showered, and the chefs (Adrienne and Brielle) started cooking dinner. While this was happening, Mia, Nat, Caitlyn, Lexi, and I went out on a dinghy and looked for turtles. After dinner, many of us went and hung out on the roof for a little, until Tony came up and led some meditation. That’s basically the whole day, and we are all eating brownies as I type this.
Can’t wait for tomorrow,
