Location: Vixen Point, Gorda Sound
Today started early with a splash as we visited a scenic spot known as The Baths. The group went on a short trek and climbed to reach a popular cliff-jumping area. After showing off our acrobatics (really only Player), we headed back to Graytful to prep for making landfall in Spanish Town. After walking what felt like a marathon to find the supermarket and a lunch spot, we had a delicious lunch all together. Josh and I definitely took advantage of the opportunity, ordering three meals between the two of us. Afterwards, a much-needed snack and sunscreen restock was made at the supermarket across the street. Our time on land ended with some snacks and clothes. Purchases at a couple of local stores. With filled stomachs and new supplies on board, we left Spanish Town to leave for a dive at a nearby dive site called Mountain Point. Before the dive, we practiced giving dive briefings. During the dive, we split into two groups and practiced leading the dives. Anzie, Sedona, Kai, Lizzie, India, and I all had a good underwater laugh when Daisy started reaching to touch a piece of fire coral after being specifically told not to maybe 30 seconds before (she claims there was a Christmas tree worm). The other group of Claire, Sally, Josh, Jake, and Player also had a great time as Stich simulated possible problems like getting lost. After the dive, it was time to get squeaky clean with our first Hibiclens shower of the trip before a delicious beef stroganoff dinner prepared by Sedona and Player. We ended the day watching flamingos flying into a nearby lake and with a great squeeze question: “What is one trait you have that you are proud of?” Same as yesterday, unfortunately, I could not find the camera for the majority of the day, so some of the pictures might be a little lacking 🙂
