Location: Great Harbor, Peter Island

After a wet night, we woke up to breakfast of burritos and muffins made by our chefs, Kyler and Jack. Then our glorious leader, Matt, picked up our laundry. After the Neptunes, Dylan, and Caleb joined Aloha (another dive side boat) for their second wreck specialty dive. Unfortunately, Brian was sick and couldn’t make the dive. Meanwhile, the Dolphins worked on their Fish ID notebooks and made proposals for their research projects. They also dissected a squid (Zack couldn’t handle the smell). When Dylan and Caleb returned, we went for a snorkel at our dive site and ate lunch. Then, Dylan and Caleb did their first solo dive and surprisingly didn’t get lost. Right as they surfaced, the dolphins were heading down for their first research dive. To start off the dive, Kyler accidentally dropped the transect tape, and Cara got to recover it. They used transects and quadrats to survey the reef. During the snorkel earlier, Alli, Zack, and Australian Tyler collected algae. Alexis, Moorea, and American Tyler examined the diversity of coral. Kyler, Jack, and Scarlett looked at diseased sea fans. After, we debriefed the dive and talked about skills for our research project. Next, we showered, ate a Thanksgiving feast, and took sunset pictures. Now we are getting ready for movie night
