Location: Great Harbor, Peter Island

Hiiiii, today was a super busy day for all of dive side but especially Soul Rebel. While we started our morning in GHP (Great Harbor Point), after waking up, everyone put on their PFDs, and we were off! As we headed to the famous Rhone wreck, I got the opportunity to be at the helm for a while. While I sat in the power tower during our short sail over, I saw Caleb eating an entire head of lettuce (only lettuce). In his words, it was “scrumptious and a delicacy to our world”. Once arriving at Salt Island, I (Alexis) hooked us up to a mooring ball, and we prepped for most of the group’s first wreck dive! Everyone was super excited. We had our eyes peeled for the captain’s teaspoon and headed down. The current was a bit of a battle, but we made it through using the mooring line during the safety stop to stay put (see pic below). After we had surfaced and put our gear away, two groups were shuttled over to the beach, and everyone was ready for our hike (25 min walk with a small incline). When the last group was brought in, Zack decided to try and be a gentlemen and pull the dinghy to a shallower depth for the rest of us to get out. Instead, he went face-first into the water and was drenched for the rest of our time on the island. The hike rewarded us with some very pretty views while also being a new level of heat that we had experienced for this trip so far. Once we returned back to the boat, everyone was exhausted, and of course, a group nap was in order. Dylan and Kyler claimed a beanbag on the hard top and were knocked out. Scarlett, Ty, Alli, and Jack all found a comfy spot in the cockpit and thoroughly enjoyed the hour-and-a-half sail back to GHP for the night. We got exciting news about another trip to go skiing later in the afternoon, and Moorea was named champion of the boat after everyone got their turn. Once we all returned to the boat, Joe (Skipper) graciously made a delicious chicken salad and risotto for dinner. All of us ate wayyy too much and had to sit back and rest for a bit before our 2nd-night dive of the trip!! The dive went perfectly according to plan, and after showers, Brain, Tyler, and I came together to attempt to make some boat brownies… it did not go well. I discovered that six tablespoons do not equal 2/3 cup of water, and Brian found out that the last time he made brownies, it was a double batch. This was a single and definitely did not need four eggs. Anyways today was a great day. We are all setting up hammocks and getting ready for bed. See you tomorrow!!

P.S For everyone reading this to see what I’m up to, I miss and love you lots <3
