Location: Great Harbor, Peter Island
After yesterday’s failed rescue scenario, we all woke up prepared for another one at any moment. We sailed to and spent the morning at West End. Lorelai, Audrey, Casey, Stella, Ash, and I all had breakfast together, enjoying the famous bagels from Omar’s Cafe. Afterwards, the group split up to visit the shops along the dock, including Arawak and Riteway. Kate bought lemons to lighten her hair in the sun, and Aiden got communal snacks, which were really nice. (to Mami: I got flip flops, so forget about what I said on Day 15) At around 11, we took the dinghy back to the boat, set up our dive gear, and sailed to GHP. The dive was at a wooden wreck with really cool marine life, like a spotted moray eel and trunkfish. We had a good laugh when Cameron Hood filled up with air, or when we found the toilet at the bottom. When we surfaced, we were definitely all on edge, awaiting another rescue scenario, so we couldn’t really relax. Maya improved her French braiding skills by practicing on me, Ellery, and Casey. In the evening, a couple of people went to do water sports, with Jackson showing off his water skiing skills. Then we rafted with the other dive side boats, Baba Jaga and Why Knot. Overall, it was a pretty relaxing day. We ended with chili and rice as our dinner. Now it’s time to study for the rescue exam we have later tonight.
