Location: Sandy Spit, Green Cay
Today we started the day in Jost Van dyke by Sydney’s. Jackson and Cameron cooked French toast for breakfast while the staff had a meeting. It took a while, though. When they got back, we went underway and sailed to Sandy Spit. Ava and I played spit during the sail. After we arrived, we did our last search and recovery dive. Ava, Lorelai, and I had a little trouble because our object was super small and blended in pretty well, so it took a few tries. Then we sat around for a bit and ate lunch. After lunch, we had some paperwork to do while Ellery, Cameron, and Audrey helped clean the dinghy. But then we got surprised in the middle of paperwork with our first rescue scenario! There was a panicked diver that Lorelai kept an eye on while Casey jumped in with two Chiclets to rescue him. To add to the chaos, another panicked diver surfaced while Kate and Maya started to look for the first missing diver underwater. Jackson pulled out the first panicked diver while Casey switched gears to focus on the second. Ava and I jumped in to help look for another missing diver underwater. The panicked divers kept jumping in despite Aiden’s best efforts while Ellery, Audrey, and Cameron watched the show. After the scenario ended, we had a long debrief about all of the things that we did right and wrong, and prepared for a Fun Dive at The Playgrounds. We all saw a massive ray and completed a great dive. We came back to a great dinner of franks and beans made by our incredible chefs for the day. Now we are playing a game of extreme Uno.
