Location: Muskmelon Bay, Guana Island

Pancakes were served, and while the consolers left for a staff meeting, we cleaned the entire boat thoroughly, as a deep clean was well needed, and held hands at the table for their return. Tony didn’t seem fazed; I think he’s too used to our shenanigans, or maybe he’s figured out we’re beyond repair. Either way, I would be freaked out if I left my kids unattended for two hours and came back to a clean ship, which our ship, Meow or Never, is NEVER in such a state, all gripping each other’s hands violently in the center of a table, staring at the floor. We’re broken. But we cleaned a boat. Productivity in the best manner. Around ten, we docked in the middle of nowhere town (Trellis Bay, right off Tortola) and spent an agonizing four hours in the sun, BUT we had local shops. Luckily, there were some nice shady palms along the beach! Traveling as a group, majority-wise, we first stopped at a local market, which was the perfect opportunity to stock up on those weird English cookies, forty dollars worth, to be exact.

Sometimes, when life gets you down, treat yourself to a pre-midlife crisis in the acts of cookies. Rebel your self-consciousness, abuse your parent’s credit card, and forget about your problems until you realize your parental figures are about to see the credit bill. You said whatever makes me happy, Mom. Guilt can’t get me this time. I think most people had impulse control and bought resourceful stuff after they lost half of the shampoo/ sunscreen on the rideover. After, we stopped by a local coffee shop that was embedded within a few other restaurants and a spa. The coffee shop was outstanding, and the surrounding restaurants had excellent food right off the beach. One served a mixture of Japanese and Mexican food, and another served a seaside grill. Managed to summon a cat as well and shared my meal! Named them Sebastian and ranted about my cookie spending “habits…” on a bench together. There was also this really cool local artist couple on the island who owned their own shop and sold their own merch. Their art and designs were outstanding along with the quality!

Aragorn’s Studio is the shop name, and they do, in fact, have an online website only for their shirts if you’d like to check them out. Not much else happened on Trellis Bay, most people from my understandings were stocking up on necessary supplies and snacks, or catching up with other kids from different fleets and boats. Overall, as I can safely say it was an expensive stop for myself and possibly others, shopping and spending time right off the beach was amazing and was definitely one of my favorite and most memorable stops this trip. Onboard, we got our laundry back! We sailed to Muskmelon Bay, quite a beautiful cove surrounded by a natural island barrier. Dinner was chili, if I’m correct, I can’t quite recall, but something along those terms. After dinner, while some were assorting laundry and cleaning dishes, Tony was leading a dance party inside the cockpit. The day was fulfilling and memorable. Sunset was not good, though; Mom, do NOT come after me about that when you are reading the blog. Mia mistook the sun for the moon, and it was that dull.

ALSO
Tony is amazing, and we love him. But he didn’t give me gummy sharks, so I have a grudge against him now. I want gummy sharks. But we love Tony because he is such an amazing and patient consoler who always brings out the best in others and myself. We are blessed to have Malaku, Mia, and Tony. I just promised Tony I’d be right about Tony. Love Tony. Tony is fire. Please, I want gummy sharks, though seriously.

Signing off with warm regards,
Lexi
