Location: Great Harbor, Peter Island

We started our morning by being woken up by our boat neighbors, “Why Knot”, with their music and the sound of banging pots and pans. We then luckily were woken up a second time, although this time we woke up to the beautiful sound of “bikini bottom day”. After waking up, Jackson and Audrey boiled up some water so that we could all have a delicious oatmeal breakfast. Soon after breakfast cleanup we sailed from “GHP” to Salt Island, it was a very peaceful sail in which many of us took naps to avoid sea sickness or others even got their tan on. After that peaceful sail, our chefs made some awesome, yet almost glue-like, macaroni and cheese for lunch. After lunch, we got our scuba gear in order and got debriefed on the first wreck dive of the session, The Rhone. The debrief came with a scary backstory presented by Matty P. During our dive, we all saw many cool things: Lorelai was able to equalise her ears, Ava saw a princess parrot fish, Ash saw a big lion fish, Jackson saw an angel fish, Casey saw a sea urchin, Stella saw a lobster, and I personally saw a big pufferfish. We also all swam through the bow of the sunken ship, which some of us had never seen before. After a very cool and successful wreck dive, we got on Oats, one of our dinghies, and prepared to go ashore onto Salt Island for a hike. On our hike, we socialized with the other dive boats on the other side. Most of the boys ran up the mountain hike, including Jackson and me. Once the rest of the shipmates made it up the hike, we all took pictures and took in the amazing view. After we made it back from the hike, Ellery, Audrey, and I went over to “Why Knot” to snorkel for our night dive tonight. After finishing our snorkel, we came back to “Second Wind” just in time to see the rescue surface after using search patterns to find a missing diver, and learned how to respond to a panicked diver underwater. After the rescue, the kids did well on their dive and surfaced. Audrey and Jackson helped Nat to make a really good Mexican night dinner, while I made a side of guacamole (staff note here… it was really great guacamole). After a great dinner, Kate and Maya played tortilla slap, which was really funny. After dinner and a good laugh, Ellery, Audrey, and I went on a great night dive where we saw stingrays, tarpon, and sea cucumbers. Then we surfaced and all went to bed at a reasonable time (9:40).
