Location: Great Harbor, Peter Island

This morning, we got to sleep in until around 7:30, where we woke up to our favorite wake-up song. Our staff helped the chefs, Stella and Aidan, make breakfast, which was breakfast burritos. After we cleaned up, Cameron, Audrey, and I got all of our dive gear together and departed our boat to go to Why Knot, our interesting second home. We were there for the whole morning while our rescue divers practiced the largely anticipated rescue 6 and 7 skills. With Why Knot, we sailed to the Willy T wreck for our second wreck dive. During this dive, we mapped out the wreck on a slate and then swam around for a bit. We started sailing back to GHP pretty quickly after we got back on the boat after the dive, which was surprising because their boat tends to move very slowly.

On the sail back, we talked and napped with our friends. Back on our boat, Casey and Ash did a particularly good job surfacing each other during rescue 6. For lunch, they ate grilled cheese cooked by Matty P and the coffee cake that was not ready at breakfast. Then, we returned home and also had lunch, which was very good. Once we all ate, my fellow neptunes and I rekitted and went back to Why Knot for a fun moon dive. This dive consisted of us wearing extra weight, taking our fins off, and completely deflating our BCDs at the bottom of the water, and jumping around and doing flips. Someone from the other boat brought an orange down and we all ate it, it was very fun. While we were there, the rescue people got back in the water to practice rescue seven at our boat. Rescue 7 required them to be on the surface all afternoon, so Ava took her pink zinc stick out, and she and Kate put it ALL over their faces so they would not get burned. They each took turns in their buddy pairs doing the steps to surface an unconscious diver and what to do while bringing them back to the boat. They each had to do it one time correctly without the O2 mask and one time with it. They were in the water for 3 hours doing this. When I got back from my fun dive, Rachel let me play dead and be the unconscious diver for Kate and Jackson, which I found fun despite getting choked.

While some were finishing up their rescue skills and some were showering, Aidan and Stella began cooking our summertime Thanksgiving dinner with the help of Nat. We invited Jake, from Mike’s boat, over for dinner, and Maya and I went in the dinghy with Matty P and Sela to pick him up. We had a fun dinner with him and ended our squeeze with a moo off between Jake and Cameron, and we also called Mackenzie to thank her for our dinner by quoting Mike😃. During cleanup, Lorelai caught a fish in the pot used to cook the mashed potatoes at dinner. Aidan and Stella got back to the kitchen once again and baked us some chocolate chip cookies for dessert. Now, I am sitting next to Audrey and writing the blog and enjoying our first night where we do not have a dive chat or night dive, and the rescues are learning how to set up the emergency O2. Kate also just made some really good chocolate milk. When they are done, we will feast on the cookies and go to bed at our reasonably early bedtime of 9:30.
