Location: Fort Bay, Saba

To start off the day, we woke up early, all excited to adventure to Saba! We ate breakfast quickly and then made our way over to Saba by the small dinghy boats. When we arrived, We stopped at a glass shop filled with souvenirs and jewelry. The owner of the store was named Joe Bean, and she helped many people create their own beads. Dasha and Zoe got matching bracelets, and Derek and Dasha got beaded necklaces. After this, we walked 10 minutes into the town of Saba and saw many goats along the way. We were able to have our phones today, so many phone calls were made. As we got into the town, we stopped in the grocery store for water and then made our way into “ Saba Snack” for lunch. Most of us got chicken tenders, but Z had a grilled chicken sandwich (not the best). After lunch, most of the kids (Dasha, Peter, Adnan, Zoe, Jack, Carson, and many from the other Minerva boat) headed over to the dive site. Z, Claire, and Derek had to stay back because they didn’t have their diving certification. The diving kids were able to explore coral reefs and share experiences with stingrays, various fish, and sharks.

On the other hand, The snorkeling kids were in the presence of many turtles, sea urchins, and colorful fish. After our long day, everyone came back to the boat. Carson and Adnan made dinner, and we shared our day full of fun over cheeseburgers. Tomorrow, we sail to the island of St. Eustatia. Hope you enjoyed reading about our day!
