Location: Marina Cay

This morning we woke up to some Taylor Swift and slowly made our way to the stern for breakfast. Our chefs brought out cereal, but unfortunately, Sophie quickly learned that our milk was spoiled! She poured some out, only for a weird consistency and smell to appear. Shortly after, we learned that our power went out, meaning that water wasn’t flowing, toilets weren’t flushing, fridges weren’t cooling, and lights weren’t lit. However, the lack of power couldn’t get in the way of our big plans today. Today was our first open water dive! After getting dressed and using another boat to fill our waters, we sailed over to The Dogs for our dive. Everyone was nervous at first, as we were going down 30 feet and not sure what to expect.

After completing a few skills, Emily, Madison, and I saw a baby turtle! We swam alongside it for a bit before ascending. Chloe, Hayden, and Liam saw a few Angelfish as well. After diving, we returned to our boat for lunch. Our lunch today was a Tuscan white bean soup, but Lilli and I had a PB and J instead. Everyone was very worn out after diving, but we couldn’t rest for long because it was time for a sail chat. We sat in the salon and learned the different ways to anchor or use a mooring ball. Ben got a bit sleepy, though, and as a result, had to stand for most of the chat. He wasn’t alone because, as a group, we had to move our chat outside and walk in circles while learning to keep our energy flowing. Once our chat was over, it was time for a competition. We broke into our watch teams and competed in a race to point out different parts of the boat. Elle, Will, and Hayden carried watch team 1 (The Barracudas) to victory. However, Joseph won a 4-point round, bringing his team to a close second.

On a more creative note, we learned how to make rope bracelets and anklets. Some struggled at first, but we got the hang of it eventually. Now our whole boat has matching anklets! We set sail to a new spot shortly after and anchored with all the boats in ActionQuest. Mike zipped over to help us with our power (or lack thereof), which seems to now be going in and out. The chefs (Madison and Liam) cooked tortellini and garlic bread for dinner, which was delicious. To end the night, Emily, Hayden, Chloe, Madison, and I had a dance party on the bow of the boat while Elle, Sophie, Ben, Liam, Joseph, Will, and Lilli played card games.

I miss you, Mom, Dad, Lauren, Alice, and Noni! Love you all!
