Location: Sandy Spit, Green Cay
Today we woke up to Sophia the 1st, which got everyone up. For breakfast, we had French toast, which was made by Ruby and Humphrey. While they were finishing up making breakfast, the staff had to head to a meeting, so we all ate breakfast and designated roles for our scenario, which we needed to complete for our certification. Once the staff got back, we had to send off our beloved dinghy Rango(the engine broke). After that very sad moment, we headed over to Sandy Spit. When we got to Sandy Spit, we got our kits on and did our search and recovery dive four. For this dive, we had to interview staff Rachel on the location of our objects and determine the best search patterns to find them. My group, which consisted of Maddie, me, and Roman, got the large item(A weight belt, which we referred to as Rango’s dead engine). Since we had the large item, we were required to use a lift bag. Mathew, Dawson, and Humphrey had to find a tiny hacky sack-like weight, but they got a little bit of help from a very kind lobster that was guarding the weight. After the dive, we had lunch, which was chicken wraps. Once the dishy pit was done, we made emergency action plans for GHP(Great Harbour Peter Island), which was interrupted by the DMCs pretending to be panicked and tired divers and snorkelers, which was very chaotic. Scarlett and Mathew did amazing at calming down the panicked divers while Lucy, Rachel, Evan, and Dawson went down to save the divers who were underwater. After the scenario, we debriefed on what we needed to fix for our next scenario, which we don’t know when it’s happening, so we all have to be super prepared for it. Next, we headed over to the playgrounds(A dive site). We were down for a total time of 40 minutes and a max depth of 65ft. Redden kept on doing some flips and doing some games with Humphrey, during the dive we saw a turtle a cobia a lobster and a spotted eel. Once we got back, we showered, and the chefs started making dinner. Dinner was very chaotic. Dawson accidentally added 3 cups of water instead of 1 and a half. Hence, it ended up having a massive hole in it, Humphrey accidentally added the beans before the water was boiling but it all worked out and we had an amazing dinner, now we’re cleaning up and getting ready for the night.
