Location: Great Harbor, Peter Island

What’s up, blog? As the trip was starting to wind down, we turned up right back where we started at West End. Everyone was so stoked to get to shore for a hardy brunch at Omar’s coffee shop. Humphrey and I got avocado toast with eggs while Lucy and Madi got breakfast bagels. Scarlett and Dawson then went over to the west end gallery, and Scarlett got a pretty pearl necklace. Later, Evan and Red stocked up on some Vienna sausages to prepare for a boat prank in the near future. After that, we all got back on the boat and made our way back to Great Harbor, Peter Island. Ruby and Roman got their tan on while they studied up for our big rescue diver exam tomorrow. Once we got to GHP, Madi Humphrey, Rachel, and I followed Declan closely on a fun dive, which he navigated expertly, aside from the time when we came up next to the wrong boat, but it didn’t matter because we could all use some surface swimming cardio after living on a boat this long. The other group, Scarlett Evan Dawson, Red, Lucy, and Roman, saw a few lobsters and a puffer fish on their dive. After the dive, we had some much-needed nap/study time before the big moment. VISAR, the BVI’s volunteer medical emergency aquatic first responders, gave us the pleasure to work with them on a drill scenario so we could see what it’s like and so they could keep their skills sharp. Scarlett and I were lucky enough to play the victims in this drill. Scarlett was suffering from decompression sickness after a dive, and I got my hand stuck in the winch while sailing. Visar arrived on the scene with their one-of-a-kind tactical speed boat to assist with injuries, only 10 minutes after Madi called in the emergency. They say Vizar is able to be anywhere in the BVI’s within 10 minutes because of how professional their program and equipment are.

Once they arrived, Lucy, who was playing my sailing buddy, screamed bloody murder to Kit and Seth, Visar Medics, about my hand, causing a commotion. Ruby left Dawson and Scarlett’s side to get the other three medics’ attention about Scarlett’s DCS. While Lucy and I tried our hardest to act obnoxiously freaked out and in pain, Scarlett did an awesome job convincing everyone around her and even herself that she was dying of decompression sickness in her dive buddy, Dawson. Ruby, in the midst of it all, was darting in between the victims, trying her hardest to mess with Visar. After Scarlett and I were “stable” and transported onto the Vizar boat with our emotional support humans, Lucy, Dawson, and Ruby. We started to motor away on the boat when Kit finally cut the scene. We thanked them all so much for the scenario, and they returned the favor with an awesome speedboat ride on their one-of-a-kind boat. Red, Evan, and the others, who were watching the scenario, jumped at the chance to get on the boat; little did they know how soaked they were about to get. To end the Visar action quest crossover, they came up with a way to answer everybody’s question we were all wondering. To finish off the day, Rachel and Dawson cooked up a nice dinner of chili and rice to enjoy while listening to Mac DeMarco. Anyways, Peace out blog and come back tomorrow for more.
