Location: Sandy Spit, Green Cay

Around 7:30, Friendship woke up to a breakfast of French toast prepared by Charly and Sophie. While the counselors were off for a meeting, we all tidied the boat and prepared to move to Sandy Spit. On our way over to Sandy Spit, we set up our sail and finished our sailing rotations. Kaya, Eric, and I raised the sail while Xander controlled the helm. Once our sails were up, we began rotating through various jobs. After this, we practiced man overboard drills. Instead of a real person, we used Gregory, the Fender, as the victim. Bea would announce that he went overboard, and then the rest of us followed the procedure to retrieve him from the water. Celeste was behind the helm, making sure we retrieved Gregory quickly and safely. Aidan was responsible for alerting the coast guard of our situation through the VHF. When we finished our drills, we continued our voyage to Sandy Spit. Maggie and Sophie directed our anchor team consisting of Dylan, Xander, and me. Once we dropped anchor, we drove a dinghy over to the beach, along with most of the AQ boats. We played in the water, made sandcastles, and played volleyball. After our beach time, we went back to the boat and spent time in the water, playing in the dinghy and also snorkeling. Once our ocean showers were over, we began testing our knots and nomenclature. We finished off the night with a delicious dinner of Franks and Beans!
