Location: Sandy Spit, Green Cay
This morning we woke up to some dude trying to sell us bananas and ice… we kindly shut that down and then got to sailing. We sailed from Great Harbor to Green Cay. As soon as we got to Green Cay, it was time to dive. The dolphins did their second research dive for the project, while the Neptunes had a fun dive. I (Brooke) saw an eel swim between the reef when I was collecting data. Connor and Holden had a good time spotting grouper on the reef. Charley went for a solo snorkel and spotted a barracuda and a sting ray the size of her. After that, we all came back to the boat and jumped off. Gene was showing us all how to do his penguin dive, and Scarlett, Maya, and Laragh were practicing their backflips off of the dinghy. We all took ocean showers, and then the dolphins finished their bookwork as the Neptunes did equipment specialty. Next we all joined Joe and Gene on the bow as they taught us how to salsa. Emily and Aline were especially feeling the beat and were able to pick up the dances quite quickly. After that, we all went to the island for a barbecue. Overall today was a good chill day; I can’t wait for tomorrow.
