Location: The Bight, Norman Island
Last night, the boat had a wild night of sleep. Me (aka Grace), Laurel, and Carlie slept near each other. People wouldn’t stop talking until 3 am (not our boat because we are all angles ), we got rained on, and JT wouldn’t stop snoring. Today was the first day of sailing! We woke up at 7 am and started off the day with cereal for breakfast, which was made by Laurel and River. Then, all of the boats went to a meeting with the owner, Mike, and it was `Several hours later, we finally left the dock and had our first adventure sailing! We learned how to put out the sails and attach them to mooring balls that were placed throughout the water. Our boat was split into three watch teams for the whole trip so we could learn from the pros (aka JT, Emma, and Margaret). We all got to watch the staff tack and also practice winch safety so that when we get to do sail training we will be pros just like them. Today, we also went snorkeling for the first time and had our first boat-wide saltwater showers! We did, in fact, have the most amazing meals, thanks to our chef and sous chef. For breakfast we had cereal, for lunch we made sandwiches, and for dinner we had sloppy joes! Currently, at this time, we are doing our jobs while jamming out to music, which is pretty dope if you ask me. Now it’s past our bedtime, so I should probably wrap this up.
Parents, this is a hello from us to you!
Love,
Grace, Carlie, Avery, Arthur, River, Laurel, Dillon, Kaya, Leila, Alivia, Michelle, & Sahil
