Location: Marina Cay
At 7:00 am, the boat was gently awoken, resulting in a calm, quiet morning. On the schedule, today was sailing and a few hours in Leverick Bay. Before departure, Izy left to go instruct scuba diving with Beso del Viento. Around 8:30, after a nutritious breakfast of cereal and milk, we began sailing toward Leverick. The pro sailor, Celeste, helmed expertly as we put up the sails. After a riveting sail chat last night, we were introduced to sailing circles, which allowed most people to try every position during a voyage, from helmsperson and dinghy watch to hype man. Cahan did an exceptional job keeping the ones on the winches hyped as they worked their muscles pulling in and letting out the sheets.
Too much surprise, nobody crash-jibed! After taking shifts in each position for a couple of hours, we finally docked. Katie, Celeste, and I ordered food at The Cove Grill and enjoyed non-alcoholic piƱa coladas and daiquiris alongside Dylan, Cahan, Aidan, Xander, and Erich. The three of us then made our way to the grocery store, where we saw Maggie and Sophie and purchased an assortment of much-needed snacks and personal items. After buying food and Spanish conditioner, we went to enjoy our meals and ate with Charly and Bea next to a gorgeous ocean view. At 2:00 pm, we went back to the boat, then embarrassed Garrett and James by leaving the fenders out when we left (but we quickly corrected our mistake). We resumed our sail and headed toward Marina Cay. The sailing circles were, unfortunately, unable to be completed due to a lack of wind, so we all relaxed and did our own things as we motored through the Caribbean Sea. I woke up from a nap to us anchoring and many people working hard to help it go smoothly and successfully. Today was all around a relaxing and fun day for everyone, and we cannot wait to see what tomorrow holds!
