Location: Sandy Spit, Green Cay
Hey, Nacho Dingy fans!! Today, we had a very slow and sleepy morning on the dock in Sydney. All of the sailside boats were rafted all night after our lovely BBQ. We got to sleep in extra late today and started our day with French toast made by Avi and Hayden. After the cleanup, the Vega girls and their girl dad headed over to Oryx for a relaxing sail day. We practiced our sail skills to get ready for our test to get our sailing certification.
Meanwhile, the DMS were doing their dives and snorkel skills like normal. After the Vegas did some sail skills, we stopped at a beautiful secret spot that Annika knows. It had pretty rocky cliffs and perfectly clear, blue water. Chicken salad sandwiches were served for lunch, and then we got suited up to snorkel. We all got to free dive in this small reef. We saw sea urchins, fish, eels, and cool rock caves. Then we headed out to sail some more!
Butttt at home the Dive masters were giving the rescue kids hell for there practice scenario. The rescue students have to be able to rescue and handle situations on the spot, so our dive masters had to be actors today. From what I’ve heard, there was a lot of screaming by Lila, Avi was eating tons of oranges, and Tyler was spitting chocolate milk in a kid’s face. Keep in mind, this is all supposed to happen, so they are prepared for anything! It sounds like they were amazing actors and had a lot of fun. After the scenario, the DMS went diving in the playgrounds. Lila and Avi got to lead groups through the dive and saw turtles and giant eels.
After the vega girls finished sailing and the dive masters finished their dives, we all finally got home to nacho. Everyone showered and made dinner. Dinner was a weird AQ combo of rice, beans, and hot dogs, which is 100 times better than it sounds. After dinner, the question of the day was for everyone to give their hot take, which stirred up something for people… let’s just say it ended in Lila, Mackenzie, and me singing Hamilton at the top of our lungs. To end the night, the DMS is taking their big test, so everyone prays for their success!! Annddd hopefully Ayden is making us cake 🤗
