Hey all, it’s Mathilda here.
Today we were mainly sailing and swimming, so we had a lot of time to helm. This morning I woke up pretty early (the rain got into my hammock), but so did everyone else. I know that Jules had to move inside really early (like at 3 AM) because he was getting rained on a lot. When we were all awake and somewhat functioning, it was time for pancakes 🥞 ! After we cleaned up from breakfast, we got going, and we sailed for about 3 hours before we had to stop for lunch. During that sail, everyone was either on the roof or on the bow. I was taking a nap on the roof (and my bandanna flew off during said nap 😔), Jules and Griffen were also on the roof. Everyone else was on the bow and to quote Holden, “catching some waves”. Today we were also making the playlist for the boat 🎵, the main contributors were Jack, Natalia, Leila, and Amelia; so we have ended up with a very international playlist (those nationalities being American, British, and Spanish). During lunch, we were all swimming when a huge, and I mean HUGE, fish came up to Michelle and Jack. We were unfortunately unable to take a decent photo of it, but trust me when I say that it was massive. After lunch, we had two fixed jib sheets and were prepared to get on our way. In the afternoon, we sailed for another 4 hours during which Natalia, Carla, and I all steered. During those 4 hours, we saw everything from flying fish 🐠 to cruise ships 🛳️. When we finally got to our anchorage for the night, everyone was sunburned, sweaty, and very excited to take an ocean shower.

During our “showers,” we saw quite a few moon jellies 🪼. I know that Amelia really did not like them, but I was swimming around and trying to pick them up. For dinner we had pasta 🍝 and we all got into a very deep conversation about our respective childhood TV shows (specifically Dora the Explorer) For our squeeze question today I asked ‘what meal everyone would choose to have if they could only eat that for the rest of their lives’. (Jules said a subway sandwich) Kinda basic but whatever. So… yeah, that concludes our third day of the trip, and I will hand off the blog to Griffen for the fourth day. Thank you for reading.
Sincerely,
A sunburned teenager
