Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda

Hi! My name is Evelyn, and I am the skipper of the day! We started off the day with a refreshing scuba dive session where Caroline, Lou Lou, and Oscar’s group had the privilege of scuba diving on top of multiple sting rays. Lu went scuba diving for the first time too. We then had a sail chat, where we got to learn more about our sailboat and some of its many functions. After, we swam in the water, and to our luck, we are anchored near a reef, so Jack H and Harrison took their own goggles and saw a bit of the reef and its fish. Jack (from Tennessee) wakeboarded along with Forbes/Topher, who almost cleared the wake. Topher also almost lost his hat and had to take a ‘heroic’ jump into the water (he wanted me to say heroic).

We also went on a beautiful hike with Arden and Shona. From the top, we could see both sides of the island. The later part of our afternoon was full of relaxing moments; Lila made bracelets off the side of the boat, and many other people napped and read books. We also went on a hike on a nearby trail where I (Evelyn) got attacked by cacti but also was able to get a cool overview of Mountain Point. After the hike, Thea and Chase shared some of the treasured rocks they found and explained why they chose them. We then had an amazing dinner, and at the end of the day, our counselors baked us some cinnamon apple cake which was DELICIOUS. It was a good and relaxing day. Personally, I think that our spot at Mountain Point is one of the best places we have been yet. So far, this has made me appreciate the ocean and the world more. I have been able to experience things in person that I have only ever seen on TV. We saw dolphins and turtles the other day, along with mangroves and a reef full of color and life. Bye!
