Location: Great Harbor, Peter Island
Hello from Good Times! Our boat’s name perfectly describes our very important day here at Action Quest: RHONE DAY!!! We began our morning bright and early at 6 am to Kyler’s famous “Rhone Day Playlist.” This, along with the sunrise accompanying us on our sail to Salt Island, was truly an unmatched energy. Once we arrived, we were told the mysterious story of the sinking of the Rhone and embarked on a scenic 30-minute hike. The crashing blue waves against the mountain rocks got all of us even more excited to dive into the Rhone. After our hike, it was finally the time everyone had been waiting for throughout the past nine days….. RHONE TIME! We quickly got our gear set up and plunged into the water. The Rhone, still beautifully preserved even over 100 years later, was thriving with coral and marine life of all kinds. Nina, after being unable to dive the Rhone for two years, finally equalized and got to enjoy all of the beauties of the wreck! In a similar vein, Ben was able to successfully equalize and reach the bottom after having some slight ear trouble.
On our dive, Emma spotted a large barracuda checking out the Rhone, and the rest of us spotted things like a large spikey lobster, eels, and tarpon swimming above us. During our dive, we were able to swim under and through the prop of the sunken boat, a true test of our buoyancy skills. After this amazing aquatic adventure, we had some well-deserved downtime, and all of the Good Times shippies took a long nap, and for Ruby, her third of the day. After this nap, Henry finished reading the book he had been working on and passed it to MiMi to begin reading. The adventures did not end here, though; three of the dive side boats latched together to form a mega raft! And later, two more joined. During this, Humphrey gave wakeboarding another chance and finally got up for almost five seconds! Speaking of accomplishments, the “Dynamic Dingy Duo,” Stormy and Alex were taught how to drive a dingy and save someone if they were to fall overboard. Even dinner today was exciting: Mexican night! We had four cooks in the kitchen perfecting our food: Humphrey, Emma, Pablo, and Diego, all working together in perfect harmony. Soon after dinner, it began to rain, but that didn’t stop MiMi, Emma, Pablo, and Diego from jumping into the water and perfecting their backflips off the dinghy. Tomorrow is another early, big, and fun day at Action Quest (Pablo’s birthday and laundry day), so it’s time to get settled and wind down for bed. Goodnight parents!
