Location: Great Harbor, Peter Island
We woke up bright and early at 7:00 am to find that we had been pranked with the word “Hello!” Written on the table, and goldfish scattered all over the boat. Not long after, our dirty laundry was collected, and we cleaned up the boat. Ruby hung up some birthday banners for Pablo’s 16th birthday. Alex and I read our books outside while we waited. We had a breakfast of breakfast burritos, prepared by our lovely chefs Humphrey and Ben. We broke off the mega-raft and sailed over to the other side of Great Harbor Peter to go to our first dive site, “The Wall,” a large underwater slope with a coral reef stretching to the bottom of it. Mimi, Nina, Diego, and Emma handled the dishy pit, and the duckies, Stormy and Henry, cleaned up the mess we left shortly before the first dive of the day.
During the dive, the dolphins and Neptunes split up, with the dolphins doing a second research dive while the Neptunes did their second dive for their underwater naturalist specialization. The neptunes found and removed some litter during the dive. After the dive, we had a lunch of grilled cheese sandwiches, followed by dishwashing and sailing to our next dive site, the wreck of the Willy T, the wreck of a barge that was decorated to look like a pirate ship, including a large number of well-posed fake skeletons. While we were underway, most of us got our rest for the dive ahead. Once we got moored near the site, the dolphins and Neptunes split up for underwater photography and wreck dive with respective briefings. The Neptunes entered the water first, followed by the dolphins a few minutes later. We saw a large stingray near the wreck, hiding in the sand, and we swam through one of the rooms at the top of the barge. After the dive, we sailed over to our final mooring of the night. The chefs cooked up a large Thanksgiving dinner, which was amazing. Later in the night, we had a birthday celebration for Pablo. It was a very action-packed day, and we are all looking forward to a good night of rest and an exciting day tomorrow, including a visit to the shore. Goodnight from Good Times.
