Location: Savanna Bay, Virgin Gorda
Because of heavy rain that prevented us from leaving, the day started slowly. Eventually, however, a couple brave kids ran through the pouring rain to get some breakfast and snacks at a cafe. After breakfast, we had a sail chat where we reviewed charts and plotting courses. At noon, everyone was shuttled into Road Town to buy loads of snacks and whatever else we needed for the trip crossing the Leeward Islands, which is tomorrow. After a leisurely lunch and shopping spree, we returned to La Bella Vita and cast off into the Francis Drake Channel. From the Drake, we motored to Savannah Bay in Virgin Gorda, travelling through a light rain storm and having fun crashing through the waves. To cap off our day, we had pasta with hot-dogs. We are now fully prepared to embark on our journey leeward, which we look forward to in anticipation.
