Everyone woke up today around five thirty. Everyone was super excited to start sailing, but the hot conditions were the reason for the early risers. After a yummy cereal feast, all the shipmates sat through a long talk by the director of the program. After Mike’s speech, we hit the road- or should I say, the sea- to start our first sailing adventure. We learned basic sailing skills and lots of new lingo. Then we went snorkeling around caves, looking for old pirate’s gold. We saw a shark, a barracuda, a turtle, and some shiny objects that looked suspiciously like treasure… after snorkeling and having a salt water shower dance party, everyone settled down for a relaxing dinner. The weather was cloudy today but quite pleasant. We also learned today that the number one rule of sailing is to look cool!
