Location: Sandy Spit, Green Cay
After our BBQ at Sydney’s Peace and Love, some of us were exhausted and went to bed… but some were feeling brave and pranked Meow or Never and Beso Del Viento. At 11:30 pm, Cameron, Chase, Emily, Amy, Eli, and Magnus pranked the other boat by placing oranges in sail bags and rearranging their cutlery. Then, once it was morning, we all woke up to our chefs, Cameron and Emily, cooking up some nice French toast. I (Jada) even got my own non-cinnamon French toast with Nutella! (I’m allergic to cinnamon, if you’re wondering) After our filling breakfast, it was a slow morning as we prepared for our… PRACTICAL SAILING EXAM. We were split into three groups of four: Eli, Magnus, Jada, and Breckyn…. Ellory, Amy, Emily, and Vaughn… then Chase, Cameron, Sloane, and Finn. Our groups competed as we were tested on sailing terms, hoisting the sails, knots, and more. Around lunchtime, we anchored at Soggy Dollar, where we encountered dolphins swimming right near our boat! While we were enjoying our chicken and veggie wraps for lunch, Vaughn’s rubber squeaky chicken toy fell into the ocean! Vaughn jumped in, lifevest and everything, all to save the drowning chicken. Emily then performed CPR and Heimlich… and it’s safe to say the chicken survived! After that, it was time to sail to Sandy Spit, a little island with one little palm tree! When we arrived, the people who needed to finish their PADI Open Water Diving Certifications were able to do so! Emily, Cameron, and I finished up our last skills and enjoyed diving as certified divers! After our saltwater showers, we had hotdogs and beans with cornbread for dinner! We ended our night with the Forum, where we got to know more about each other through deep and meaningful questions! Signing off
