Location: The Bight, Norman Island
Hello parents, friends, and family. Today was Day 2 of our 3-week trip. We started the day with a brief from the head of the operation Mike. He educated us on the importance of rules, safety, and order, as well as the importance of a good time. We then began the trip from Tortola to Norman Island. Students began to learn the basics of sailing. Everything from raising sails to navigation, and steering. As we moored the boat, we learned new knots and hitching techniques that later led to our swim test, four laps around the boat (200m), and a 10-minute float test. After a successful test, we went to snorkel in the Bay Area of Norman. We then ended the day with a crash course in scuba. Overall a very successful day on Friendship. – Charly Mooney
