Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda
Today was another rotation day! The day started out with everyone waking up around 7 am. Our first rotation was zesting (a little sailboat that is surprisingly hard to control). Enya and Charles managed to somehow capsize their zest to the extent that their sail was under the water. The standings for capsizes are Libby, Georgia, and Eliza capsizing four times today, Reid and Dalila capsizing at least seven times, the two Reeses capsizing twice, Charles and Enya capsizing twice, Brij capsizing once, Max and I not capsizing at all. After zesting, we snorkeled with our amazing dive instructor, Kaleigh. We explored the mangroves, where many fish are raised for the first weeks to months of their lives. We had to be extremely aware of our surroundings to make sure we didn’t kick or hit any marine life by accident when looking around.
We headed back to Meow or Never to have our sandwiches which Annika kindly toasted for us to make them even more delicious. Our next rotation was dive chat. We learned about how the depth of our dives affects how long we have to rest in between dives before jumping back in for another dive. We also learned how to tell whether or not we needed to make stops when coming back to the surface to keep us safe. Our final rotation of the day was water sports! Our boats are very favorite. While Max, Reid, Reese Rut, Dalila, Libby, and Eliza were out kneeboarding, water skiing, or being wake boarded by Annika, Georgia, Charles, Reese Roth, Brij, and I were taking our RDP exam early to get it over with. Reid was amazing at knee-boarding. We ended our night motoring for around 30 minutes while everyone who was out doing water sports took their RDP exam (everyone passed the exam!). Charles and Georgia helped teach everyone to understand the RDP so everyone could do well. Once we arrived at our final destination of the night, we had our delicious Mexican night dinner made by our chefs, Dalila and Reese Roth. After dinner, we had a mini dance party to Taylor Swift. Matty P joined in on the fun during the dance party. We had our final dive chat before our exam. Before we knew it, our day was over, and we are now on to day 9!
