Location: Muskmelon Bay, Guana Island

Today was a really long day. We started it off with some tasty pancakes and maple syrup. After that, we raised our anchors and sails and took off. It was quite difficult for me to control the boat while sailing because I had never been behind a sailboat’s steering wheel ever. I also had to give all the commands to my peers, which was quite stressful because half of the time I had no idea what I was doing. We sailed for about five hours which was very exhausting. During those five hours, we practiced our man overboard drills, where we threw a fender named Bernard into the water and had to sail without an engine and rescue Bernard from the water without jumping in. We did that exercise over 20 times! When we finally arrived at Muskmelon Bay we had refreshing showers and a beautiful dinner while staring at the breathtaking sunset. Today was really long but was fun and was a good experience. Now we are having a sail chat. date: Aug 8, 2017
