Location: Vixen Point, Pickly Pear
The shipmates rose at 7:30 to another morning of beautiful sunny skies and the sizzling pops of french toast. After a hasty breakfast, the Dolphins and Neptunes loaded their gear into the Zodiac for a fun dive while Rescues prepared themselves for a search and recovery dive. The dive site was amazing with an abundant number of coral and fish. We all returned to Panasea to shower for our stop at Leverick Bay. Shipmates hurried to eat their lunch so they could have enough time to visit the grocery store for snacks and buy gifts for their loved ones. The Rescues returned to the boat early to get a head start for Vixen Point for their CPR class and the rest of the shipmates were soon on their tail. The Dolphins and Neptunes arrived excited for their mangrove snorkel. The swim was spectacular because the mangroves protected thousands of juvenile fish and anemones. After our snorkel, we went ashore and while waiting for their Rescues, we played the sea turtle game. Excited to clean off the sand the shipmates of Panasea dinghied back to primp for the BBQ and dance. Once everyone was spiffy and presentable we congregated on the bow to celebrate Shenandoah’s 17th birthday. Stuffed with the cake, we rode to shore in style and danced the night away.
