Location: Wells Bay, Saba

After a great movie night, we awoke on the beautiful island of Saba for a second time. A delicious breakfast of pancakes and syrup set a fantastic start to a fantastic day, and after some brief preparation, we set off on the dinghy to land. A scenic taxi drive took us into town up through the breathtaking hills, and after a quick brief in a cafe, we began to hike up to the highest point on the island, which also is the highest point in the Netherlands! We could choose between two hikes: an easier route, which Matty P and Sela led, that Ian and Nicholas elected for that went to a smaller peak, and a more difficult one, That Margaux and Davis led, which Mark, Aiden, Theo, and I went for that to the highest peak. The hike through the tropical rainforests was an amazing experience, and the view from the breezy top was even more so. Afterward, we ate a tasty lunch and had the chance to buy some refreshing drinks at the local grocery store. Then we took a short walk up to a glass store and had time to relax and socialize with the other Minerva boat while waiting for our turn to make our very own custom glass beads. When this time came, we were supervised and assisted in crafting said bead, and a taxi came to pick us up when we were all done. While admiring the eye-catching views and our almost as eye-catching beads, the taxi drove us down to our dinghy, which took us back to the boat. Next, we all took an ocean shower, followed by a lovely beef stroganoff pasta. Then we had sail chat followed by another movie night, some brownies, and then we wound down to sleep.
