Location: Statia

Waking up to leave Saba pretty quickly after finishing Pirates of the Caribbean, we had oatmeal as breakfast. After seeing some dolphins in a pod at the bow, we got to Statia after three hours of sailing. I quickly went snorkeling at the anchor line to a pretty shallow and open area below us, where Ian, Theo, Mark, and Ari swam for a bit. When Margaux came back from customs, we went on a hike to a dormant volcano called the Quill. Mark, Davis, and I went pretty far ahead of the group being the first to reach the original endpoint. We saw many hermit crabs pretty far sea. Davis said we had enough time for the three of us to reach the top of the panorama point. It was pretty grueling, as there were many high inclines and ropes that assisted the climb. When we got to the top, it was an amazing view with pretty much a full view of the island. The way down from panorama point was pretty hard but so worth it. After that, it was an easy way back. We all had good talks with other students from the other Minerva boat. Everyone swam in the ocean to clean off and started a game where someone says a category, and you have to answer before hitting the water. Nicholas was really good at thinking of questions for it. Dinner was Mexican food that Margaux made, which was very good.
