Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda

Bright and early at 5:30, we left Anegada to sail back to Mountain Point. During the two-hour passage, the staff were up listening to Taylor Swift while everyone else was asleep scattered around the boat. As we pulled into the anchorage spot, the music was turned up to wake us up and start our day. Breakfast today was simple, consisting of yogurt and oatmeal, which gave us the energy to jump into our first rotation. ZESTING!!! In groups of two, we sailed around the pod of boats. There was not a lot of wind which made our zests travel slowly, making Ruby and Macy’s zest a landing pad for bird poop. Shortly after our zesting adventures, we learned about navigation.

During our interesting talk about navigating, we figured out how to read and understand maps. Then, for lunch, Amelia and Ty crafted the most delectable grilled cheeses. After we devoured the grilled cheeses, we went out for a water sporting session. August showed off his dynamic water skiing skills by only using one water ski. Micah watched in awe and tried to do the same but came just short. I gave wakeboarding another shot and finally got up! While the three of us were wakeboarding and water skiing, Macy, Kiki, Madeline, and Annika were enjoying a relaxing tanning job session. For the last rotation, it was time to DIVE! We effectively completed the confined water section of our course with the support of our dive masters: Alexis, Ty, Amelia, and Scott. For extra guidance and support, Alexis was snorkeling above us, making sure we were doing what we were supposed to do. Afterwards, it was shower time. As we were showering, Ty, Micah, and Ruby were showing off their dancing skills to the song “Hot To Go.” We finished our showers and dancing and started to prepare for Mexican Night! As Amelia and Ty cooked the beef and beans, Ruby carefully chopped vegetables. We enjoyed our burritos with Mike (the big boss) while the sun set behind us, marking it too close to our epic rotation day.
