Today was another lovely day. It began bright and early at 5:50 am with a rescue drill for our divemasters. India woke up everyone by screaming about Ayden’s unfortunate demise while scuba diving. (Do not fear; Ayden is still here) Alexis sprinted into action by jumping off the bow in full scuba gear. It was an incredible effort and a beautiful display of teamwork. If a real emergency were ever to happen, I would feel very safe. After this, we all dinghied over to the dive boat to take our final open water diving certification test and we did a great job, Annika led the group with a 94%. To pass the time before our dive, we all made anklets. Madeline pulled out her own design and created an anklet she called the reverse bubble. Lunch was full of laughter and was highlighted by Macy’s poor eating skills and the puddle of ramen on the table in front of her. After lunch, we finally did our first non-practice dive. Milo and I were led by Ty and Amelia, 2 of our divemasters of the boat. Although they are our boat mates, they flipped a switch and became very professional and knowledgeable for our first open water dive. Scott and Alexis also led their own groups of divers and Scott was very happy to see the new divers progress. They were such great dive leaders that Kiki gave them a special shoutout and expressed her joy at today’s dinner. Ruby is not a scuba diver, so she took an “”be”” ””ta”” ing session and read her book. After returning to our boat (Graytful), we enjoyed dinner with our new friend Jasper, who was very kind and brought a special light to our dinner table. Now, Micah is reaching into the kindness of his heart and cooking Banana Bread for the whole boat. (Hence the title.)

To any family and friends who are reading this. Hello.
