Location: Anegada
This morning began at a lovely 7:40 am after a late night of partying a Leverick Bay. Kiki and Ruby were on breakfast duty, which consisted of pancakes and lots of Nutella. The following breakfast, we began our 3-hour-long journey from Leverick to Anegada! With Madeline on the helm and Milo, Kiki, and August working the sails, we flew out of the bay. While we were underway, the DMCs, Scott, Ty, Amelia, and Alexis, worked on Chapters 8 and 9 of our Divemaster study guides. Shortly after finishing our chapters, we got lotioned up and went upstairs to get everyone excited for the boat Olympics! With songs ranging from Jimmy Buffet to Jay-Z we sang along the rest of the way to Anegada.
Shortly before arriving, Annika, August, and Macy dropped the sails and motored us to the mooring ball. Once we arrived, we all filled our water bottles and got hydrated to “Thunderstruck” by AC-DC. Our hydration party ended by motoring into the beach on “Haulin.” The first game of the day was Tug of War, we had a great start and were clearly winning, but unfortunately our strong start wasn’t enough to win the war. We then went on to win second place in the relay race! Next, we went on to Fender Float Rodeo, where August helped lead us to our first victory of the day! Our final activity of the day was Paddleboard king-of-the-hill, where we took first place thanks to Alexis and August! Overall, we think we won the Olympics fair and square. Afterward, we took ocean showers and motored over to the marina still on Anegada. We had some delicious Caesar Salad and Chicken Risotto for dinner with our special guest, Dave, the AQ social media lead. We cleaned up from dinner and had some free time before the dive chat. The DMCs reviewed our demos from a few days prior, and the Open Water students watched a PADI video and did a quick review. We finished the evening with Brookies (Brownie Cookies) and went to bed early before a 5:30 am wake up tomorrow morning! We’ve all had an amazing trip so far and we’re so excited for what’s still to come!
