Location: Mountain Point, Virgin Gorda
Hi, my name is Amelia, and I’m from Massachusetts. We started the day with a 6:40 wake-up and immediately began our sail to The Baths! At The Baths, we journeyed through the rocks to make it to the Beyoncé Caves, where we then rock jumped into the beautiful clear water. We then re-boarded our catamaran and started our trek to Spanish Town on Virgin Gorda. We arrived at around 11:30 and got to split off and explore the town ourselves! Rangeley, Avery, Taylor, Hanna, Belle, Aria, and I first found “The Bath and Turtle”, a small local restaurant in town, then went to a cute surf shop where Rangeley, Aria, Avery, Taylor, and I all bought shirts as well as other things. After that, the same group stopped at a small local ice cream place and got some tasty frozen treats to cool us down!
Lastly, we went to a mini convenience store where we stocked up on some snacks and met up with the other group, Jack, Aubrie, Dylan, Yoni, and Carlos, who were all rocking matching sunglasses. We walked back to the boat together at two and began our sail to Mountain Point. On the way, Rangeley’s brand-new hat fell overboard, and we had to perform a man-overboard procedure to rescue it. Not only was it a very amusing situation, but it also gave us a taste of the dangers of falling off the boat, so we will all be extra safe now. During the long haul to Mountain’s Point, Aria, Rangeley, Hanna, Aubrie, Jack, Yoni, and I all had some fun with pink zinc sunscreen painting fun patterns on each other. When we arrived, we went over some scuba gear setup practice, followed by fun swimming around the boat! We then ended the day with a fun celebration of Dylan’s birthday with a homemade cake!
