Location: Great Harbor, Peter Island
Today, everyone woke up after a great 8 am sleep to the lovely sound of our tank compressor, Genevieve. During this, we motored from Sandy Spit to the dock we started the trip on in West End. Some decided to enjoy a wonderful selection of cereal and a suspicious-tasting pineapple. Will was able to finish another book after finishing his last one just a few days ago. Then it was shore time! Many of us enjoyed brunch at Omar’s Cafe in between browsing the shops and stocking up at the grocery store. Meanwhile, we were lucky to get our boat stocked with fuel, water, toilet paper, apples, and sour cream. We waited for a dinghy back to the boat, spotting Kyler coming to pick us up in his highlighter pink outfit because, on Wednesdays, we wear pink.
Back on the boat, we began our motor/sail over to GHP for the rest of the day. The dolphins spent these few hours working on their research papers, which are due today. They were able to finish the papers and work on their 100-question marine bio quiz. While they were working hard, the Neptunes spent the time underway relaxing. Lucy and I ended up on the front trampoline, having a great time getting completely drenched by the waves. One wave even hit us so hard that I found a crab had been launched up and was sitting next to me. Edward, the crab, showed up alongside sarcasm seaweed and was hanging onto the tramp for dear life.
We made our way into the bay and anchored, allowing us to finally dive. We all had the option to either do a moon dive or dingy dive the reef wall. Everyone chose the moon dive, so we took our giant stride in with extra weights and no fins on. We sunk all the way to the bottom and spent the next 49 minutes doing flips and playing games along the ocean floor. Kyler brought down an apple that he ate, and Cara brought down a banana. Parker, Malea, Meagan, and Paloma all had some, enjoying their underwater midday snack. Most of us matched up and raced between lines drawn in the sand, where we reached some controversial victories. Will, Mason, and Jasper played king of the hill, where Will came up victorious. Kyler ended up finding an o-ring, which Reese and I used to get married by way of our officiate, Mason. Sean saw a green eel, which he said was super cool.
We ascended for an ocean shower, leaving us squeaky clean. All of the dive side boats have been scheming about getting Aloha back after the pranks they have pulled, which Good Times carried out first by stealing their flamingo floaty. They kind of failed by dropping it into the water, so Granola Will was able to rescue Felicity the flamingo and take her to our boat to keep. While Reese and Paloma cheffed up a great breakfast for dinner, Maya enjoyed the super mysterious hazy sunset behind the mountains. We enjoyed dinner with some British rock in the background and a squeeze question about meeting any person, dead, alive, fictional, or real. Everyone chipped in for an efficient clean up while Malea and Mason went on a night dive with Granola Will to make up for dives they missed. We are rounding up the day with some brookies whipped up by Parker and Kyler and finishing up Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest from the other night. That’s all from Forever for Now, so stay tuned for the 4th tomorrow! (Our British and Australian staff are going to love us 🙂
