Location: West End, Tortola

What an amazing start to our final day! The crew woke up for one last time to the sound of relaxing music and crashing waves. Before the big race, Dylan and Ginger whipped up some oatmeal and everyone chowed down while Jessie went to a skipper meeting with Smudge to plan and brief before the race. As we left Norman Island, our anchor team of Mia, McKenna, Kaylee, and Charlotte lifted our anchors up for the last time and we began motoring towards Pelican Island to start the race. Trying to prepare our boat to be as fast as possible, Emma helped pull down the bimini and Kara helped us to slightly unfurl the Jib. We also said goodbye to Maco in Cirrus in order to drive it back to West End. Then finally, the race began. Jessie took the helm, followed by Ben who did an amazing job. While tacking, Sophie and Max sheeted in like total pros and Salsa was flying. In the end, despite being expected to come in last, we managed fifth out of seventh. The crew blasted some music and everyone was very proud of their accomplishment. Currently, we are intensely cleaning Salsa and preparing to return her squeaky clean. Once we arrive in West End, the crew will finish up cleaning, eat as much pizza as possible, and take in our final moments aboard the sailboat that became our home for the past 16 days, and enjoy the company of 14 strangers who all became family. Although the trip has come to an end, the memories and friendships will last a lifetime.
