Location: Savanna Bay, Virgin Gorda
Today was a HUGE day for sailing! We sailed for about 6 hours from the Bight to Savanna Bay. Before we hit the waves, we woke up bright and early around 6:45. We assembled a delicious breakfast of eggs and cereal. Everyone sprang into action for clean up- we are already a team after only 3 days! Next we set off and reviewed what we learned yesterday about hoisting the sails. The wind was incredibly strong. Everything had to be secured so it wouldn’t fall over. After a full morning of travel, we stopped off for a quick swim! We jumped off the side of the boat and even attempted some new tricks, such as backflips! After everyone took one last jump, we sat down for peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and fruit. We set sail once more, learning about tacking and even napping a little. We reached our destination in the afternoon where we went knee boarding! For many of us, it was our first time. After showering, changing and listening to a lesson on setting up scuba equipment, we are looking forward to a meal of penne pasta with Alfredo sauce. As a side note, we’ve named the sanitizer Jelly! It was an overall fantastic day!
